Palliative care at Trinity

Palliative care by telehealth,
across all of Texas.

Palliative care focuses on comfort, quality of life, and the goals that matter to the patient. It can be provided alongside treatment for serious illness and does not require a patient to be ready for hospice.

What it is

Comfort, understanding,
and a voice in what
comes next.

Palliative care is support for people living with a serious illness. Its focus is the person, not only the diagnosis: how they feel day to day, what is hard for them and their family, and what matters most to them.

At Trinity, our team looks at symptom concerns, goals of care, and family communication, and coordinates with the patient's treating providers so everyone is working from the same plan.

A serious diagnosis should come with a circle of support.

Palliative care and hospice

Support now. Hospice later,
if you choose it.

Palliative care is not the same as hospice, and receiving it does not mean giving up on treatment. If you choose hospice at a later date, we can help connect you with our community hospice partners.

Common questions

A little clarity
goes a long way.

Have a different question? See all questions or call us.

Is palliative care the same as hospice?

No. Palliative care supports quality of life during serious illness and can accompany active treatment. Hospice is a distinct model with specific eligibility requirements. Trinity helps patients and families navigate appropriate support as their needs change, and if you choose hospice at a later date, we can help connect you with our community hospice partners.

Does palliative care replace my current doctors?

No. We coordinate with the patient's treating providers and support the relationships the patient already has. Our approach is to work alongside the clinical team, not replace it.

Can family members or caregivers be involved?

Yes. With the patient's permission, family members and caregivers can participate in care planning, education, and communication about the patient's needs and goals.

Do I have to travel or come to an office?

No. Trinity's care is delivered entirely by telehealth, so no in-person visit is required, wherever you are in Texas.

What will it cost?

Coverage and out-of-pocket costs depend on the program, insurance benefits, and individual eligibility. Our team reviews available benefit information and discusses potential patient costs before enrollment.
